SIGMA generally holds its meetings on the first Friday of each month (unless otherwise stated).

From October 2024 meetings will be held at Alves Village Hall.

There may be occasions where observing can be done after meetings, therefore we ask that you refrain from parking on the grass section of the car park. Please only park within the hall grounds, as the road in front is the access road for the neighbouring properties.

Other observing sessions for members are held from September through to March, subject to volunteers’/experts’ availability and observing conditions at the hall or other suitably dark locations throughout Moray.  Occasionally these sessions may run as public events.

These sessions are well worth attending as there will often be an expert on hand with a large telescope, and many deep sky objects can be seen that would otherwise be obscured by light pollution.
