SIGMA has a permanent observing site, thanks to the co-operation of the directors of Highland Gliding Club.
The site has excellent low horizons to the east, south and west, not quite so good to the north but this means that it is well shielded from any sky glow from the lights of Elgin.
During the darker months (clear skies permitting!) SIGMA aims to open The Site for viewing, for SIGMA members, on Friday and Saturday nights from 7.30pm when a true dark sky is required for special events, with Club telescopes available.
General club observing nights for members will be held in the field behind Lhanbryde Community Centre.
Please contact Pete Sherman for further information.
SIGMA also holds public observing sessions . Please visit our Upcoming Events page to find out more.
Our monthly meetings are held in Lhanbryde Community Centre. Non-members are always welcome and your first visit is free.
